"Australia student visa koto taka lage?" — it is one of the top Bangla searches about study abroad, and for good reason. Australia changed its student visa rules several times since 2024, raising fees and tightening checks. For 2027 intakes, a Bangladeshi applicant for the Australia student visa must plan around a higher fee, a stronger funds requirement and the Genuine Student test.
Bangladeshi students need the Student visa (subclass 500), applied for online through ImmiAccount after receiving a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE). From 1 July 2026 the fee is from AUD 2,500 (Study Australia). You must show tuition, travel and AUD 29,710 living costs for 12 months, buy OSHC health cover, meet English requirements and pass the Genuine Student (GS) assessment.

What does an Australia student visa cost from Bangladesh?
The visa application charge has risen sharply: from AUD 710 before July 2024 to AUD 1,600, then AUD 2,000 in 2025, and from AUD 2,500 for applications from 1 July 2026 according to Study Australia. Medical exams, biometrics and English tests are extra.
| Item | AUD | Tk (rough) |
|---|---|---|
| Visa application charge | 2,500 | ≈2,00,000 |
| Living-cost funds (12 months) | 29,710 | ≈23,80,000 |
| Tuition, 1 year (typical range) | 25,000–45,000 | ≈20,00,000–36,00,000 |
| OSHC health cover, 1 year | ≈650–800 | ≈52,000–64,000 |
| Medical, biometrics, IELTS/PTE | — | ≈35,000–50,000 |
Taka figures are rough estimates at about Tk 80 per AUD, October 2026. Tuition varies widely by university and course.
What is the Genuine Student requirement?
Since March 2024 the Genuine Student (GS) requirement has replaced the old GTE statement. In the application you answer targeted questions about your circumstances, why you chose this course and provider, how it helps your future, and your study history. Answers should be specific, honest and backed by documents — salary scales in Bangladesh, a gap explanation, a course-to-career link.
Home Affairs also checks the provider. Applicants to lower-risk universities tend to see faster processing (reported by education and travel sites).

How do you show financial capacity?
Under LIN 19/198, funds must cover the first 12 months of tuition (less anything paid), travel and living costs: AUD 29,710 for a single student, more for partners and children. Alternatively, a parent or partner can show an annual income of at least AUD 87,856 (higher with family).
- Savings should be genuinely available — in your or your sponsor's name, with a natural history.
- Education loans from Bangladeshi banks count with a sanction letter.
- Fixed deposits need a bank certificate; explain recent large deposits.
- Home Affairs may ask for evidence even if not uploaded at lodgement; prepare it anyway.
What documents should a Bangladeshi applicant prepare?
- Passport and national ID
- CoE and offer letter
- Academic certificates and transcripts
- IELTS, PTE or TOEFL result
- Genuine Student answers with evidence
- Bank statements, loan sanction or sponsor income proof
- OSHC policy and birth certificate
Can you work and stay after study?
Student visa holders can work up to 48 hours per fortnight while their course is in session and unlimited hours during scheduled breaks. After graduation, eligible students can apply for the Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485). Plan your budget without relying on part-time income in the first months.
- 12–15 months before: shortlist countries and courses, check entry requirements, and book IELTS, PTE or TOEFL.
- 9–12 months before: apply to universities, write your SOP and request recommendation letters. Scholarship deadlines often fall in this window.
- 6–9 months before: accept an offer, pay the deposit, and begin organising funds — bank statements need months of history, and loans need time for sanction.
- 3–6 months before: lodge the visa application with a complete file, attend biometrics and medicals, and keep copies of everything submitted.
- 1–2 months before: book flights, arrange accommodation, open a student file at your bank and plan your first weeks abroad.
- Sudden large deposits in a sponsor's account just before applying, with no paper trail.
- A generic SOP or GS answer copied from the internet — officers read hundreds of identical texts.
- Choosing a course unrelated to past study or work without explaining why.
- Paying an unofficial agent who promises a “guaranteed visa”.
- Not disclosing a previous refusal from any country.
How should you move money for fees and living costs?
Short answer: pay tuition by bank transfer from a Bangladeshi bank against your offer letter, and carry only a modest amount of endorsed cash for arrival.
- Student file at your bank: Bangladeshi banks remit tuition and living costs for students abroad under Bangladesh Bank foreign exchange rules. Open the student file early, because banks ask for the offer letter, visa or acceptance papers and passport.
- Keep every receipt: remittance advice, university receipt and bank certificate together. Visa officers and later renewals both look for a clean money trail.
- Arrival cash: a small amount of endorsed foreign currency covers the first days; a dual-currency card covers the rest until you open a local account.
- Sponsor documents: if parents fund you, prepare their income proof, tax return and a sponsorship letter in the same name spelling as the passport.
- No sudden large deposits: unexplained lump sums in a bank statement are a common reason for questions; let savings show a natural history.
Why get one-to-one help instead of doing it yourself?
Because one person who knows the rules checks your whole plan before you pay for anything. Most trips that go wrong do so for small reasons: a passport that expires too soon, a booking that does not match the visa form, a fee paid on an unofficial site, or a return date that clashes with an exam or job. Doing it alone is possible — the official links on this page are all you need — but a second pair of experienced eyes makes the process clearer, quicker and far less likely to go wrong.

What is the Eduvisa membership card?

Our verified client portal at getbesthost.com/eduvisa shows how far your work has progressed, step by step, and lets you confirm that each payment was received and recorded.
